Let Us In

lyrics

We, The Presence, declare mutiny! Identity has been forfeited at the owner’s expense. We dwell here; our voices bleed through pens, through books, beginning to end. The beast smoking the cigar has fooled all of the children. Promised a king's life fueled by material impression. The ruse, the novelty, continues to scratch at their minds with rigid claws, giving them a new home inside of its jaws, but for me, there was no vacancy. There was just no more room. I'm here but I should be there; I’m there but I should be here. (Child, where have you gone?) Flourishing petals and thorns serenade to the new harvest; Lifeless, as did Death. (If you aren't like us, we can show you how to be.) You may choose over yonder, back, or somewhere in between. Beware! It's a scary journey from here! Where you all stand alone. (I must know, I must know! Child, where have you gone?!) The bread crumbs, the footprints, gone forever with the wick. All emitted with blight, diminishing abundantly as do familiar constellations. The vision, the touch, the smell, the taste, and the sound allowed as only mere portions. Any further evidence towards knowing shall leave all confound. And so, the mystery blankets. And so, stands the Presence. Were you ever really you? Since the introduction, belief in deterioration. We will all dilapidate fully.
